The War on Plant Medicine
From the popularization of psilocybin mushrooms in the 1970s—where peace and love reigned in a war-stricken era—when the government wanted men ready to kill or be killed in the Vietnam War, unity posed a threat to governments intent on power and control.
It is satirical how the system fails to see the power in unity.
From María Sabina, the renowned Mexican curandera, who healed her community with psilocybin mushrooms for decades, and introduced them to the western world. This later led to her imprisonment, an arson attack on her home, and her dying destitute.
Many lies have been spread about the use of psilocybin mushrooms. Claims that they are “addictive” and “have a high potential for abuse” are false. As a healer, I believe that it is a part of my calling to properly inform people about the miraculous healing within plant medicine. And trust me, there are MANY different types of natural medicines. Psilocybin mushrooms only scratch the surface of the immaculate plants that we have access to on planet Earth.
Hi, my name is Trinity Faith. I am a spiritual retreat host, oracle, and the author of my poetic memoir, Brown Girl Almighty. Since 2021, I have made conscious content on spiritual healing and psychedelic experimentation on my YouTube channel. Through documenting my own healing journey, I have had the pleasure of traveling all around the world, meeting wonderful people, and holding sacred space for their transformation.
I have hosted spiritual retreats in Morocco, Costa Rica, Sedona, Atlanta, and the Dominican Republic where I hold various plant medicine ceremonies, introduce people to ancient healing modalities, and show them the innate power within themselves.
Plant Medicine Did for Me What Therapy Couldn’t
One mushroom session did for me what 1 year of therapy could not do. It centered me into my inner world, quieted my chattering mind, made me reach profound epiphanies about traumatic experiences, and gave me euphoria and optimism about how to traverse through life.
My very first experience was in the summer of 2020. My friends and I were watching The Midnight Gospel, and right as I started to peak, I stood up and proclaimed, “I am beyond everything that has ever happened to me! I have persevered through every trauma! I’ve not only lived to tell the tale, but I’ve received beautiful knowledge from every experience!”
A lightbulb as bright as the sun had went off.
It was like that episode of SpongeBob where the fish tried the jellyfish Krabby Patty and sung, “Hey all you people! Hey all you people won’t you listen to meeeeeee! You’ve GOT to try these mushrooms! They’re no ordinary mushrooms! They’re mushrooms with healing propertieeesssssss!”
Plant medicine had me meet my highest self, who reminded me of the godliness that I am. It has cracked me wide open time and time again. It built a foundation within myself that I wouldn’t have gotten any other way. And if I did, it would have taken me years to get there.
I’ve sat in years of 1 hour weekly therapy session where we discussed trauma and abandonment, but none of it rewired my brain chemistry or expanded my beliefs about myself and the world around me. For me, therapy was a bandaid. I am someone who enjoys mud crawling through my subconscious mind and picking a part my problems. Where some people take substances to numb out, I consume plants that help me remember my divine path (no matter how dark it gets).
I refer to plant medicine as “Easter eggs.” These are gifts from Gaia that aid in humanities evolution and ascension. We are blessed to have Easter eggs that heal generational trauma and the subconscious mind. They connect neural pathways in the brain and help you see things in a completely different way.
Psilocybin is known to help you heal addictions, ease anxiety and overthinking, balance the nervous system, help with forgiveness, heal depression, promote peacefulness for dying people, and sooo much more!
Plant medicines get to the root that many pharmaceuticals do not. Where your doctor is accustomed to healing symptoms, mushrooms and ayahuasca, get to the ROOT of all problems and uproot them like a rotting old tree.
Also, many pharmaceuticals are actually based off of plant medicine. Scientists will extract compounds from a plant, add some other shit in there, press it into a pill, and then sell you a watered down version of healing that comes with many side effects.
And oh yeah! You have to use it for the rest of your life…
That is not the way to live.

The #1 Psychedelic Fear is having a “Bad Trip”
People hear crazy stories, read misinformation, or see a hallucinogenic interpretation of a mushroom trip and think they’re going to see dead people or go into a psychosis. Nah sis, that is rare.
What I’ve learned from years of trips is that ENVIRONMENT IS A HUGE FACTOR.
Every “bad trip” I’ve heard has been because of they were in the wrong environment or with the wrong people.
Maybe they ate them at a festival and got really overwhelmed by all the energies, because mushrooms tap you into your energy body deeply. It puts you in a very vulnerable state and if you are not careful, you will pick up other people’s shit or overthink small interactions.
If that happens, give yourself some solitude (or isolate with a trusted person), and breath deeper than you ever have before. You need as minimal stimulation as possible. Don’t try to overthink ways to “fix the problem” or “come down” from the experience.
You are here now, so ride the wave. Let the shrooms tell you what they need to. Their messages don’t always come through as words, sometimes it is feeling, memories, laughter, visuals, epiphanies, the need to journal, etc.
At my Open Heart Ceremony, there was 1 girl who drank a lot of Mushroom tea and had a “bad trip.” She was overwhelmed by everyone’s energy but luckily, I had Aviance, a highly educated trip sitter, there who kept her grounded company and helped her get home to her partner where she felt the safest.
This is also why it is also important to be facilitated through a psychedelic experience by a professional.
If you are interested in mushroom assisted counseling, check out my Psychedelic Guidance offering:
Don’t just write things off because you considered it to be a bad trip. You may have needed that experience to show you something you should change in your life. Maybe it’s the people you call “friends,” maybe it’s the lack of boundaries you have with your family, maybe it’s the criticism you hold within yourself.
Trust that the mushrooms are always giving you exactly what you need. Not every experience is fun and games or a trippy time. Real medicine calls for real work, which is also why we: Educate and Integrate!
Educate yourself on mushrooms before consuming, and integrate after your experience by journaling, talk therapy, and adhering to what you learned. (I believe that if I had mushrooms while in therapy, it would have made a world of a difference).
Integration can look like many different things, and it is important to understand that plant medicine can change you in an instant. Once you come down from the experience, it can be hard to return to life as though you didn’t just uncover something new about yourself. When things shift within, the life you thought you were comfortable in may no longer reflect the internal change that has occurred.
That’s why integration is important. It is your personal journey to explore what works for you; to make changes and decisions that align with your spirit with love and an open mind.
The War on Plant Medicine is not always Obvious.
There’s censorship, shame, criminalization, the algorithm, etc.
As a content creator and advocate, these have been big issues when it comes to sharing my message and giving safe resources for where you can find the medicine (use code TRINITY15).
YouTube actually deleted both of my channels because I worked with a company that discreetly ships plant medicine to your door ⬆️. I had to petition to get my channels back and only 1 was restored.
Every time I had to appeal a video they removed for “illegal goods and services,” I hated it because they acted like I was cracked out in the streets from these mushrooms. Ya girl was just in the sun meditating talking about love and light! What’s the problem??!!!
I was mad about this for so long that I took a 2 year break from YouTube. During that time, I hosted more events and retreats and brought the medicine to my community in person. I cultivated spaces no censorship could penetrate.
Now I’m back on YouTube and I have an even stronger message than before. I have more experience under my belt and all the gemini audacity that I need! No algorithm can shake my throat chakra! No person can project their fears onto me about my truth!
This work is my calling.
It has poured so much life into me and I plan to pour life into it.
If you’re feeling called to explore plant medicine, join us in Thailand on my next retreat, November 1st - 7th, 2026! This will be a sanctuary for deep transformation, blending sacred workshops in breathwork, mantra, and Kundalini philosophy with moments of wonder through curated excursions that honor Thailand’s beauty, culture, and divine feminine spirit.
I’d love to have you there!
In full gratitude, Trinity Faith
